I’m no gynecologist but I’ll take a look shirt have written on lap desks, fabric-covered gadgets, water tumblers, and more. I’ve always had a special place in my heart for items that excel in both form and function in my own life. During my study and writing for this book, I developed a new respect for the simple bra, which, when done well, is a highly calibrated piece of design and engineering.

I spoke with Cora Harrington, the founder of the I’m no gynecologist but I’ll take a look shirt and author of In Intimate Detail: How to Choose, Wear, and Love Lingerie; Jaclyn Fredenburg, a corset and other undergarment instructor at New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT); Dr. Andrea Madrigrano, a breast surgeon at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago; and Holly Powell, the owner of I’m no gynecologist but I’ll take a look Hooded Sweatshirt, a lingerie store in Portland, Oregon For extra perspective and history, I talked with Doug Farmer, an end-use research researcher at The Lycra Company; Majid Sarmadi, PhD, a professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Human Ecology; and Colleen Hill, a museum curator at FIT and author of Exposed: A History of Lingerie.
Because no two boobs are similar (even on your own body), I enlisted a panel of Wirecutter colleagues to put the finalists to the I’m no gynecologist but I’ll take a look T-shirt. Our testers are 34A, 36D, 42D, and 34F in size. We spent endless hours tightening straps, connecting and unhooking bands, scooping and swooping our boobs into bra cups over the course of six months.
